    8:12 and 8:13 is a 2 monitor setup before it's existence

Wait, so you're telling me that Apple has always been greedy from the start?

    Ouch.

I love the background you have now

Your content is still as good as ever but your studio, and most importantly your backdrop, is not as good as it was: way too light and too many shapes. For me personally it's too distracting and something's off with the contrast because of that (you come across as weirdly yellow / pale / sickly). It's no longer the calm contrast you had going, but has more of a 90's t-shirt vibe which is (for me) not a good thing 🙁 I REALLY miss your straight wires across your walls btw..

I like how the video shows lugables to go with the narration "everyone is familiar with clones of the IBM PC." 😀

The TRS-80 Color Computer had a similar palette issue as is discussed @19:20. The hi-res color supported four colors (black, white, red, and blue), but the red and blue tended to reverse themselves randomly (whether at power-on or when the mode was activated escapes my memory).

Legend has it that if you turn your Laser clone to color and your official Apple monitor to mono, you can see God (or at least get additional 2TB of RAM)

The oldest computer I have still working is the Laser 486sx complete with Startrek 25th Anniversary Edition on MSDos 3.01 “Stock”. Best selling point. The star trek graphics on the box.

The fact that these computers can use virtually the same parts and still somehow be 1/3 the cost just tells me that Apple, much like today, are greedy as hell.

My families first computer was an Apple clone, but not the Laser. We had the Franklin Ace 2200. It came with dual floppy drives, so I became the go to guy for making copies of games. I didn't know Franklin was using direct copies of Apple's ROMs, but that would explain why I never ran into a problem with incompatible software.

My computers teacher in Jr High school hated those Laser floppy drives.

Could it be that power out on the Laser XT was for the printer or external drive. I remember when I first saw one of those in Sears decades ago. It had a 3.5" floppy drive. Later on, I kicked my self for getting a Commodore instead. The Laser XT would have given me the basics of were software was heading.

So Turbo Mode here does the opposite of Turbo buttons?

Nice video on the laser 128 computer. I have never heard or seen of those computers. Seems cool.

Less money for more power? When compared to an Apple product? WELL I NEVER! 😀

not a hand model are we 🙂

The blue shapes behind you are not even, one side goes longer. Was it a design choice or did you run out, because its fucking distracting.

My old Mac plus has one of those long hard drive connectors. I have a 20 megabyte hard drive that sold for $1,200.

Back in the 80s I was always intrigued by the Laser 128 and the Laser XT clones I'd see for sale, but my family had an Apple //e & and XT clone so no real reason to buy one. I had a friend, from high school, that had a Franklin Ace 1200 and though it was really neat.

    Good memories!
